Outdoor writers have an annual opportunity to participate in a media tour hosted by Jim Duckworth and Birdsong Resort, Marina and Campground, Camden Kentucky Lake, TN. Owner Bob Keast says, "What a great way to let the rest of the world learn about our remarkable, natural resource... the scenic Tennessee River's beautiful Kentucky Lake - along with its fishing, fun, attractions, and historical values." The group visited Birdsong Resort May 15-18 to sample the area's phenomenonal offerings.

Story ideas gathered will surface nation-wide in outdoor publications, newspaper and magazine columns, radio and television shows, and internet entities, as the writer's convey the experiences they encountered during their stay at Birdsong Resort, Marina and Campground. Scheduled photo opportunities will appear on national-title magazines, internet sites, newspaper, brochures and more... all promoting the Tennessee River/Kentucky Lake area.

Eight Fishermen were on the water with their boats each day for the morning photo session, which began each day at sunrise. After the morning photo shoot, attending writers were free to sample the fishing on Kentucky Lake - one of the South’s hottest lakes for bluegill, crappie, catfish and bass fishing in the springtime. A variety of fishing guides were provided for the writers to "change gears" at each morning and afternoon session, and try each different type of fishing. Guided lake tours capitalizing on the lake's beauty and Civil War history were offered on itineraries, along with guided tours of North America's only freshwater pearl-culturing operation - The Tennessee River Freshwater Pearl Farm.
