Freshwater Pearls Showcased To Tour Operators, Journalists

Casey Jones Village in Jackson, Tennessee was the final stop for some 25 tour operators and journalists from around the world on Thursday, February 28. The operators were traveling across west Tennessee as they planned their itineraries for 2002/2003. Among the many areas they visited were Jackson, Memphis, and most counties in West Tennessee.

Bob Keast of Birdsong, Resort and Marina of Camden was invited, at the request of the State of Tennessee Department of Tourism Development, to showcase the only freshwater pearl farm in America, "A Pearl of a Tour." Keast and his resort were recently highlighted on CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood, in Rita Braver's "Pearls of the World."
