Tennessee River 600 Makes Annual Stop At Birdsong Marina

On Saturday, July 31, the riders of the 8th Annual Tennessee River 600, stopped at Birdsong Marina along their journey. Beginning on Sunday, July 25, more than 75 jet skiers left Chickamauga Marina between 4-5 p.m. as part of a seven-day, 600-mile run of the Tennessee River. Funds raised from the Tennessee River 600 will benefit Children's Miracle Network hospitals and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. The region's only children’s hospital, T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital, will be the local beneficiary.

The Tennessee River 600 began in 1997 to raise money for the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency. In 1999, proceeds from the event were donated to participating CMN hospitals in the Tennessee Valley. In 2002, the Tennessee River 600 raised over $15,000 for CMN hospitals in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Birmingham and Memphis.

The Children's Miracle Network (CMN) is an international non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness for premiere children's hospitals. Founded in 1985, CMN's pledge is to keep 100 percent of the donations in the area in which they are made.
