a HeavyWeight Promotion West Tennessee Industrial & Commercial League Invitational Bass Tournament Norandal Reels in 2007 Trophy The 23rd Annual West Tennessee Industrial & Commercial League Invitational Bass Tournament was held on Sunday, September 16th at Birdsong Resort, Marina and Lakeside RV & Tent Campground on the scenic Tennessee River's beautiful Kentucky Lake. One hundred and eighty six (186) fishermen from area companies were able to spend a fun-filled day on Kentucky Lake, catch a few fish, enjoy Benton County's vast shoreline and even make new friends. Eighteen (18) West Tennessee companies and bordering companies in Middle Tennessee were represented by ninety three (93) boats. The "ooze off" went very smooth during the early morning sunrise at the Birdsong Marina with flights leaving at 6:30 a.m. Weigh-in time began at 3:00 p.m. and went on through 4:00 p.m. One hundred and fifty three (153) fish were checked in, weighing a spectacular 378.06 lbs. Only five (5) fish were on the fatality list. A great job by all the bass enthusiasts in the catch-and-release program! Norandal, of Huntingdon, placed first in the tournament and received the coveted "Best of the Best" rotating trophy for 2007. This colossal four-tiered trophy tops five feet tall. 2006 reigning champion H & M Company, Inc. Of Jackson, Tennessee relinquished the trophy to Norandal - the new 2007 winners. All participating teams' weights are considered when determining each company's “trophy teams.” The top three teams' weights are totaled to select the winning company. The three trophy teams for Norandal were: Tim Chadwick / Chris Lutzl;Casey Smith / Colton Smith and Joel Sturgis / Terry Wolfe. Their combined weight totaled of 35.06 lbs. to win the trophy for the 23rd annual tournament. The huge rotating trophy will be displayed at Norandal in Huntingdon for the next twelve months. Tennesco Corporation, Dickson, came in second place with 34.10 lbs, and TVA, New Johnsonville took the third seat weighing in 29.66 lbs. Winning the individual team competition was the team of Tim Chadwick, McKenzie, TN and Chris Lutz, Huntingdon, TN, with a whopping 13.95.27 lbs.
